THE PRAMBANAN TEMPLE

After snacks shopping at Merlino, we went to Prambanan temple complex area. The Prambanan Temple is located at the village of Prambanan. Its compound is the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia and one of the largest Hindu temples in south-east Asia. It is characterised by its tall of 47 m and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu temple architecture. The temple complex dates from the 10th century, and it was dedicated to Shiva. The reliefs describe the epic of Ramayana, a very famous legend written by Valmiki, a famous ancient literature author from India. Next to the main complex, there are Sewu temple (thousand temple), the Lumbung temple, Bubrah temple and Asu temple. We're just passing by a train to sight see the other temples. At nite, we usually can see the performance of Ramayana dance at the stage with the background of Prambanan temple. Very beautiful scenery indeed, with the spot lights, illuminate its wall. Ray bought stone statue of Buddha's head and wooden statues souvenir there. Van was quite a good bargainer, so Ray could get cheaper price. From Prambanan, we went to eat dinner at Jimbaran Seafood and Betutu Chicken Restaurant. The place is good actually, but the food was so so and the price was so expensive. Crazy price. It's not recommended. Not for second time.
